My first professionally produced music video featuring my new single “Harder” has just been released!
Making this video was tougher than I thought; it involved two months of preparation, coordinating and lots of energy.
Developing the concept was easy; executing it was a major task. The physical work involved, which was literally painful and finding locations to shoot the scenes.
Anybody can make a video, but making a good video consists of having a dope concept; that’s the real key.
During the first meeting with Dave Wilson of EyeQ Media I told him my basic concept for the video; he told me if we only got twelve people in this video it was going to be dope.
I watched a lot of videos to prepare for this project and realized that most of them were doing the same thing; hip hop artists walking down the street rapping or on the stage just holding their mic.
I felt the need to do something different. “Harder” was full of energy so I decided I would do a fight scene; not just any fight scene, but a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight scene.
I connected with my good friend Caleb Quinn who introduced me to MMA fighter Chris McCalister; we worked together for over three weeks to bring our fight scenes to life.
Lions Gym was one of the key locations we used for some of the scenes in the video; Stephen Menya, owner of Lions Gym, was very gracious to allow us to use his gym for a couple of hours the day we shot the video.
You may wonder while watching the video if I actually rap my song upside down and the answer to that is yes! It was a difficult shot considering the human body was made to be upright, it took about ten minutes to complete that shot; I felt like a stunt man.
We also shot scenes at Urban Ventures where family and friends participated in the crowd; it was a lot of fun. The brothers from Teen Challenge came out to show some support; what a blessing.
I can’t thank people enough for all the help and prayers of support. We made this video come to life; let’s keep it moving!

WOW, What a great Video. Really good job.
AWESOME! Very well done! Great quality, music, lyric, visual content. Your hard work paid off! Thanks for sharing! It has been amazing to watch your journey over the past 9 years! That’s right! It has been 9 years since we met at the Redwing Correctional facilities and AKA brought hip hop to life for me! I will never forget the move of God’s spirit in that place that day. I am going to pass the link to this vidoe on to some of the youth I mentor. They will LOVE it!
I listened To your CD “Anointed Queen” and I loved it, I keep it in my car at all times. Every time I here it, it’s makes me what to put on my skates and just go with the flow. And I love my skates so whenever I hear music that makes me want to skate to me that means it sounds great and it makes me feel good. Keep it up my brother.
YOT, that is a quality job!! The lyrics and the connection with doing all things through Christ is fantastic. God is going to use this in many ways. Your hard work paid off in many ways.
Thumps up, well done Yot.

Loved it!!!
Yotman,
Harder is the first music I’ve heard by you. I enjoyed it. Especially love the lyrics where you rap that before you know it you’re in the huddle with the devil.——How true is that about the evil one.
PEACE, Charlie
