Testimony at the Prison – Part Two

YotManAnother great time at the Rochester Federal Correctional Facility today; it‘s truly a blessing to fellowship with men who believe in change. Although they are behind prison walls dealing with the consequences of their actions, God continues to use them in a mighty way.

One young brother in particular shared his testimony about being incarcerated at Rochester; he said “he was facing fifteen years, and after seeking God through prayer and meditation his sentence was reduced to five years.”

Another brother shared how God had changed him from being a violent and angry person to a loving person. But the testimony that really got my attention was the preacher who was incarcerated for robbing banks; he believed God called him to minister to brothers behind prison walls that are struggling with homosexuality.

I’ve got to admit, although we go to the prison as reasonable humble servants to minister the gospel; these men ministered to us, which is OK by me. As long as it’s the truth, it doesn’t matter where it come from. Case in point: if you ever read the bible you would know that God opened the mouth of a donkey to speak to a false prophet, named Balaam, to get his point across.

This trip was truly a jail house rock! Inmates were flipping up and down the aisle running, dancing and screaming as if someone just won the lottery. I’ve never seen this much excitement in a correctional facility without violence or someone getting hurt. What this proved to me is that the power of praise provokes Gods spirit to move.

Yes, YES! Praise is our weapon. Praise is our vehicle to get us through anything. When we don’t have or know of anything else to do, we must Praise! It changes the very air in the room. I’m lifted by your telling of these experiences. I will continue to keep your ministry lifted in prayer.

    Grace and Peace,
    Mark

This is amazing what God himself can do through many people lives, just to reveal his Glory when he turns things around for his good. We shall not let anything or anyone ever get in the way of the Lord’s fire burning in us. Continue to get your trust in God in season and out of season, and in the storms of life and out.

In speaking of the angels he says,
    “He makes his angels winds,
    his servants flames of fire.

  3. Thank you for all you’re doing (being a tool for God).
    You’re a blessing!
There is and has always been a lot of questionable practices as far as Minnesota’s prison systems are concerned. $$$ is my speculation.

    I got this from a a website:
Minnesota has one of the highest black/white incarceration ratios. Disparities at the earliest measurable stages of Minnesota’s criminal process — arrest and felony conviction — are as great as the disparity in total custody (prison plus jail) populations.

So it’s always good to hear people like yourself reaching out to those souls behind bars.
